Road Safety and Disability Prevention

We focus on promoting safer, accessible, and inclusive mobility for persons with disabilities and preventing disabilities resulting from road crashes.

We recognize that persons with disabilities face heightened risks as pedestrians, passengers, and road users due to inaccessible infrastructure, unsafe transport systems, and limited consideration of disability in road safety planning. Our approach combines evidence-based advocacy, public awareness, community engagement, policy dialogue, research, and partnerships with government, civil society, road safety actors, and communities. We amplify the voices and experiences of persons with disabilities and road crash survivors to influence inclusive policies and practices. UDAD-U also advocates for accessible pedestrian infrastructure, responsible driving, effective speed management, improved driver training, stronger enforcement of road safety laws, and sustainable financing. Through collaboration and disability-inclusive approaches, we contribute to safer roads, disability prevention, and equitable mobility for everyone.
