Dr. Nizeyimana Pamela - Board Member

 Dr. Nizeyimana Pamela is a researcher in curricula and educational programs. A Special Needs Education teacher, teacher trainer, and a mentor for young people with and without disabilities. She has taught students of all ages, from primary to university level. She taught at primary schools for over 10 years, at primary teachers’ colleges, and served as a policy maker, providing educational support and supervision for 7 years. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in education (Special Needs Education) from Kyambogo University, Kampala, Uganda. Two master’s degrees in education; one in Administration and Planning from Uganda Christian University, Mukono, Uganda, and another one in Special Needs Education from Kenyatta University, Nairobi, Kenya, and a Ph.D. in Education from Veer Narmad South Gujarat University, Surat, India. Her areas of specialization are Special Needs Education, Inclusive Education, Administration and Planning in Education, curriculum development, and Research Methods.

She has served as a resource person in the areas of Special Needs Education and Disability at both the local and national levels. She has conducted research in the areas of Special Needs Education and Inclusive Education in 2001, 2005, 2009, 2014, 2017, and 2023. Currently, her role is to oversee and conduct research on curricula and educational programs as well as instructional materials development from pre-primary, primary, secondary, and tertiary levels, to inform curriculum development, review, implementation, and policy influence, build research networks and collaborations, writing research grants, and disseminating the research findings.
